On Friday, April 25, 2014, Dr. Rick Hammel and Dr. Dustin Kruse, their team and additional volunteer dentists and hygienists will be spreading goodwill and cheer to the local community with the Clay Center Dental Mission. This is an annual gift of free dental exams, x-rays, simple fillings, extractions and cleanings to ADULTS ONLY who would not otherwise have access to these important treatments.

Services will be rendered to adult patients only (only age 18 and above) on a first come, first served basis from 7:30am to 4:30pm on Friday, April 25th at the Clay Center Family Dental Care office at 714 Liberty St., Clay Center, KS. Every patient must have a ticket and tickets may be obtained as early as 5:30 am on that day and not in advance.

Clay Center Dental Mission is a program that offers free dentistry to the underprivileged and the uninsured from the Clay Center area. Clay Center Family Dental Care is once again holding this charitable event for one day out of the year as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation to the community. This is the fourth year for this service.

For this year's event, Clay Center Family Dental Care has recruited additional dentists, hygienists, assistants and many volunteers so more patients can be accommodated to meet the high demand for dental services.

The mission is funded and supported by many local, regional and national sponsors who donate money, goods and their time to the mission.

Dr. Rick Hammel & Dr. Dustin Kruse operate a traditional dental practice throughout the year. During the April 25th event, Dr. Hammel and Dr. Kruse and their entire team are volunteering dental services to people in need, at no charge to them, and on a first come, first served basis.

Dr. Hammel & Dr. Kruse and their skilled staff hope to make a difference in the lives of those who come to them for help, and they will do whatever they can on the Clay Center Dental Mission day to relieve pain and fix simple dental problems.

"We are blessed with the ability to give because we have ourselves been richly blessed, said Dr. Rick Hammel. "We have been doing mission dentistry in Belize for the past five years and have seen need here at home. This is our way of giving back and helping those who are in difficult circumstances." Dr. Frank and Bonnie Whipps, founders of the Belize Mission Project will be participating in the Clay Center Dental Mission.

"This mission was a response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit on our hearts and recently we felt that we should also help local folks who have fallen on hard times. The purpose is to serve the uninsured and underprivileged many of whom have no other way to afford basic dental care," Dr. Rick Hammel said.
