Beloit Native wins again at World Series Of Poker Event in Las Vegas

Brett Shaffer has done it AGAIN!!!!!
Brett Shaffer who is originally from Beloit is again playing in several events in the 2014 World Series of Poker Tournament in Vegas. Brett graduated from St. Johns in 2001. Brett is married to Stephanie Shaffer and lives in Vegas full-time and just WON another World Series of Poker Event and his second bracelet. This was event #31 of the 2014 WSOP Tournament which was a $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Texas Hold'em event. Over 1,630 players entered this event which lasted three days and Brett was the last one standing. Brett brought home a prized WSOP bracelet and the 1st place prize of $418,435!!! This is Brett's ninth time of cashing in the money at a WSOP event and fouth time finishing in the top ten of an event. At the 2013 WSOP Brett brought home at 1st place finish and over $665,000. Brett has now eclipsed the million dollar mark for winnings at the World Series of Poker with over $1,209,000 in winnings in his lifetime. Brett is the son of Bill Shaffer of Beloit.
