Ramona J. Kalivoda

Ramona J. Kalivoda, the daughter of Milo Benyshek and Matilda (Klabzuba) Benyshek, was born March 3, 1932 at rural Cuba, KS and passed away on June 22, 2014 at the Clay County Health Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 19 days.
She grew up and attended the local schools in Agenda and Clifton, graduating salutatorian from Clifton High School in 1951. On May 27, 1951, she was united in marriage to James (Jim) Kalivoda and to this union was born: Audrey and Cindy. The couple made their home in rural Clyde, KS for many years. They loved to travel and took many wonderful trips.
Ramona worked at Scott Industries, Belleville, KS for 10 years and later at Hutchinson Mayrath, Clay Center, KS for 17 years where she was a spot welder until her retirement. She also was a homemaker, wonderful Mom and wife.
Ramona was a member of the Cuba American Legion Wives Club, the Brantford Covenant Church and active in the Ladies Aid for many years, and chairperson of the Graduates for 12 to 15 years: a nondenominational group that met in the area. She also was on the foundation committee of the Brantford Schoolhouse and a 4-H Leader for many years. She loved gardening and cooking, along with quilting and birds.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Matilda Benyshek, and four nephews.
She is survived by her husband Jim Kalivoda of rural Clyde, KS; two daughters, Audrey Kalivoda of Fairview, TN and Cindy (Joe) Werth of Pekin, IL, two grandchildren, Jen (Ty) Harvey of Pekin, IL and Chris Werth of Golden, CO; one great grandchild, Anna Kay Harvey; two sisters, Roxanne ( Laverne) Marcotte of Clyde, KS and Barbara (Jerry) Miller of San Bernardino, CA; one brother, Calvin (Janet) Benyshek of Belleville, KS; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Brantford Covenant Church, rural Clyde, KS with Pastors Russell Sizemore and Sandra Jellison-Knock, officiating
Interment will be at the Brantford Covenant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from One PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9AM until 9 PM on Thursday at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home where the family will greet friends from 6PM until 8PM on Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Brantford Covenant Church or the Agenda United Methodist Church.
