MONDAY FEB 23RD MITCHELL COUNTY HOSPITAL HEALTH SYSTEMS BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Board of Trustees met yesterday for their regular monthly meeting.  After approval of the agenda, last month's minutes, and the consent agenda, hospital CEO Jeremy Armstrong hosted a call between the Board and Health Care Regulatory Attorney Scott Paleki from Foulston Siefkin, LLC.  The purpose of this call was to inform the Board of various topics facing them in regard to credentialling for Board members.  The call was informational and served to educate the Board on their rights and responsibilities as board members.  It also informed them of the rights of volunteers at the hospital and how they differ from those of the medical staff.

One of the reports reviewed by the board was the compliance report, in which the Board was informed that a committee is in place to discuss any problems within the hospital and to make sure there are no compliance concerns.  A second report was given, beginning with the welcome of Brad Eilert, who is the Board's newest member.  Also included in this report is the naming of Darren True, Director of Radiology and Director of Ancillary Services, as the Initiative Champion with the Studer Group consulting firm.  The Board was also given a copy of the February 2015 "Stethascoop" - the hospital's employee newsletter - that has recently been revived since it had been out of print.  This month's edition included a story on the Perdue House, employee spotlights, and informational articles on several topics.  Thanks was offered to Teri Pollet in Pharmacy for taking on this project and doing a nice job of putting the newsletter together.

Years of Service Awards for February were Chelsea Heidrick in RCC for five years, Janette Pounds in ICU for 15 years, Darren True in Radiology for 25 years, Lori True in Respiratory Therapy for 25 years, Teri Henningsen in HIM for 30 years, and Deanna Schroeder in Acute for 35 years.  The Board extended its gratitude for all the years of service reflected in this month's service awards.

The Board ended their meeting with an executive session on the topic of medical staff credentials.
