Winifred McEuen, Age 96

Winifred K. McEuen, age 96, entered into rest on March 17, 2015 at the Sunset Nursing Home in Concordia, Kansas. She was born August 7, 1918 in Damar, Kansas to Frances Xavier and Evelina Mary (Saindon) Barland.

Winifred attended school in Damar High School. She graduated from Ft. Hays State University with a Bachelor's Degree. She taught elementary school in Osborne, Alton, Densmore, Great Bend, Delphos, Leoville, Damar, Scandia & Courtland. Winifred retired from teaching to take care of her mother.

She is survived by her son, Mike McEuen (Mary Kay), Concordia, KS; sister, Mary Ann Keas, Littleton, CO; 5 Grandchildren, Channin McEuen, Concordia; Kalan McEuen (Christina), Naples, Italy; Kristin Higbee (Guy), Concordia, Brian McEuen, Queens, NY.; Darran McEuen (Jacqueline), Las Vegas, NV; 8 Great-Grandchildren, Logan and Austin Higbee, Michaela, Victoria, Marisa and Koldan McEuen and Gabriel and Alexis McEuen. Winifred was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Marjorie Barland, JoAnn Hlavaty, Twila Rohlfing; 3 brothers, Bernard, Clifford and Vernon Barland.

A Memorial Mass Service will be held 10:30 a.m., March 28, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Damar, Kansas, with Father Henry Sawlone presiding. Inurnment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Damar, Kanas. Online condolences may be sent to www.chaputbuoy.com
