Duane Adams, Age 85

Duane R. Adams, the son of William Perry Adams and Hattie Agnes (McMurtry) Adams, was born October 10, 1929 at Craig, NE and passed away on April 10, 2015 at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS at the age of 85 years, and 6 months.
Duane grew up in Belleville, KS, attending the local schools and graduating from Belleville High School in 1947. Following his schooling, Duane worked in the Ideal Grocery Store in Superior, and later the IGA Store in Belleville. He worked for many years at Foodmart in Belleville in the grocery department until his retirement.
On April 26, 1953, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Hickman and to this union was born: David. They were married nearly 62 years and made their home in Belleville.
Duane was a member of the Belleville Masonic Lodge # 129 AF & AM. He also was a member of the Promise Keepers and attended the Central Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hattie Adams.
Duane is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Adams of Belleville, KS and one son, David Adams also of Belleville, KS; other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Central Christian Church, Belleville, KS with Pastor Mark Imel, officiating.
Interment will be at the Ida Cemetery, rural Munden, KS.
Visitation will be from One PM until 9 PM on Thursday and from 9AM until 9PM on Friday at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville KS.
