Richard "Dick" French passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the age of 80 years young at Osborne County Memorial Hospital in Osborne, KS. He was born November 17, 1934 to Guy & Helen (Bolen) French in Alton, Kansas. After his father died, he started driving truck to help support his family. He drove a variety of trucks from delivering beer to St. Louis, hauling hogs around the country, but the load he loved to haul was cattle. He worked for several truck lines until he became an owner/operator for Golden Plains Trucking. He owned 3 trucks of his own. Dick received numerous trucking awards for safe driving through his employer and state agencies.

After Dick retired from hauling cattle he began working for Clark-Gashaw Mortuary, as an all around funeral home assistant and employee. He assisted with funeral services and driving for over 10 yrs. before his untimely passing.

Dick is survived by his wife, Alice, children: Brenda (Keith) Thornton of Osborne, Bo (Linda) French of Osborne, Lynn French (Brett Sula) of Salina, Bobi Jarrett of Osborne, Bev (Ron) Gilbert of Douglass, Massachusetts and Marv (Leta) Montey of Lincoln, Nebraska. He has 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by daughters: Chub Cameron and Gayla Montey.

Visitation will be Friday, May 15, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clark-Gashaw Funeral Home in Osborne, KS. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM at United Christian Church, Osborne, KS.
