Lawrence H. Reinke of Hebron, NE, the son of John and Minnie (Meyer) Reinke was born September 4, 1929 in rural Bryon, NE. He departed this life Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 86. Lawrence grew up in the Byron area attending country school through the 8th grade. He worked for Peter Kiewit Construction Company operating heavy equipment. He helped build roadways all over the United States and helped construct the Hastings Ammunition Depot.

Lawrence married LaVon Johnson November 25, 1951 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of four children. In 1959 the family moved to Hebron, NE where Lawrence started his own construction company working on many projects in Hebron and the surrounding area. Lawrence always had a project using the talents God gave him. When the kids called, Lawrence went to help with all their building projects, staying as long as it took to finish. They were glad to have a dad they could count on.

Lawrence enjoyed tractor shows, air shows, and would not miss a trailer race. He like visiting with his friends, going to coffee to catch all the latest news, or whatever was going on, camping at Lovewell Lake, while spending time with his family. Lawrence was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE, and a 20-year member of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Steve Ehlers, sister Frances Ludwig and husband Richard, and brother-in-law Ernie Gibson.

He is survived by his wife LaVon of Hebron, NE, sons; Gene Reinke of Hebron, NE, Dan Reinke and wife Lori of Loveland, CO, and Jay Reinke and fiancé Michelle M. Rotter-Williamson both of Bennett, NE, daughter Jennie Rodriguez and husband Ernest of Gothenberg, NE, brothers; Orvil Reinke and wife Doris of Fairbury, NE, Louie Reinke and wife Phyllis of Las Vegas, NV, Lester Reinke and wife Kathy of Hebron, NE, sisters Irene Gibson of Kalispell, MT, Eunice Horrocks and husband Doug of Beatrice, NE, and Jody (Joan) Jones and husband Bill of Ashland, NE, grandchildren; Jayme Lopez of Virginia, Tiffany Roop and husband Chris of Blair, NE, Torrey Reinke and wife Julie of Gilbert, AZ, Ashley Worobec and husband Adam of Seattle, WA, Aaron Reinke of Seattle, WA, Dustin Ehlers and fiancé Jordan Schmoldt, Jessa Thompson and husband Derek, and Dane Ehlers all of Gothenburg, NE, Brandon Reinke of Fort Bragg, NC, Quinten Reinke of Mesa, AZ, Alexzandria Rodriguez of Gothenburg, NE, four great-grandchildren; Braden, Gunner, Landon, and Brynleigh, nieces, nephews and friends.

Following Lawrence's wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Nebraska as an anatomical gift. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE at 11AM, no visitation. Officiating Pastor Keith Brozek, organist Joy Wolfe, congregational hymns "Amazing Grace", "Blest Be The Tie That Binds", and "How Great Thou Art", honorary casket bearers the grandchildren, interment will be at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com. The family has requested memorial donations, in care of the family, in lieu of flowers for local community contributions.
