Jeff Hennick will be the Head Coach for Division II West Squad. He graduated from Wallace County High School in Sharon Springs in 2008. He played football at Bethel College in Newton, Kansas in the fall of 2008 before transferring to Garden City Community College to play football in the fall of 2009. After earning his Associates degree there, he moved on to earn his Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education at Kansas State University. Jeff returned to Sharon Springs to coach under Kevin Ayers for one year where the Wildcats reached the state finals and finished as runner-up. The next year he took over the program for Ayers and finished 11-1 in 2014 and 2015, losing only to eventual state champion, Victoria Knights. He teaches high school strength classes and elementary P.E. He also is a head coach for junior high basketball and high school track.
Doug Oberle will be an Assistant Coach for Division II West Squad. He graduated from Claflin High School in 1989. He graduated from Barton County Community College in 1991. Doug attended Kansas State University, then joined the United States Army serving 2.5 years active duty and 5.5 years in the Kansas National Guard. Upon returning from active duty military he received an Occupational Therapy assistant degree from Barton County Community College. Doug served as an assistant coach under Chris Windholz at Victoria High School from 2003-2005. He was named the head coach in 2006, and has been the head football coach at Victoria for the last 10 years. Doug has been married to his wife Gina for 18 years and has two children Karly 17, Caden 15.
Lance Barr will also be an Assistant Coach for Division II West Squad. He was born and raised in Joes, Colorado. He attended Liberty High School and was a three sport athlete - football, basketball, track. Lance was selected All state-6 man Football, All State- Basketball 1a-5a. He attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS and played football from 2004-2007. Lance was Team Captain and All Conference Defensive end in 07. He also played basketball from 2007-2009. After Graduating in the spring of 2009 he began teaching and coaching in the fall of 2009 in Hoxie as High School PE/Strength training and Head Football Coach. His career football record is 41-25, with three postseason appearances. The best season was in 2013 with a 10-2 record and sub state runner up. Lance met his wife Lichelle at Tabor College. They began dating in 2008 and were married on June 25, 2011.
No. 1 - Peyton Taylor is a 2016 graduate of Hoxie High School. Football statistics and accomplishments include: 2014: All District Offensive Line and Honorable Mention Defensive Line; All League; 2015: All District, All League, All State, Top 100 Seniors Honorable Mention. Statistics - 2015: 46 solo tackles, 37 assists, 83 total, 18.5 tackles for loss, 6 sacks; 2014: 35 solo tackles, 32 assists, 67 total, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks; 2013: 13 solos, 1 assist, 15 total tackles, 1 sack. Hoxie reached the playoffs in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2013 they were District Champs, Regional Champs and Sub-State Runner-Up. Peyton was a two time golf state qualifier, playing 4 years and played basketball 3 years. He is a member of Christ Community Church Youth Group and enjoys hunting and fishing. Activities and honors in school include FFA, FCCLA, National Honor Society and Senior Class president. Peyton's parents are Kory and Stacie Taylor.
No. 2 - Parker Gates is a 2016 graduate of St. John's Catholic High School. Football statistics and accomplishments include: Lettered in football 4 years; selected All District Honorable Mention Running-back/Reciever in 2013 and 2014; All District Honorable Mention Kick Returner/Punt Returner, 2014; All District Honorable Mention Defensive Back, 2013. The School set a record for most wins, 32, reaching the state playoffs in 2012, 2013 and 2014, finishing as Sub-State Runner-Up in 2013. Parker had 31 passing yards with 1 TD, 1500 rushing yards with 23 TD's, 900 receiving yards with 14 TD's, for 3,000 All Purpose Yards. He had 151 tackles (4 for loss), 5 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries (4 caused fumbles), 4 kick returns for TD's and 1 punt return for a TD. Victoria was State Champions in 2014 with a 12-1 record; State Champions in 2015 with a 12-0 record and CPL Champions in 2015. Brady was selected All League Baseball in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and was a member of the 4A State Baseball team that placed 3rd at state in 2014. No. 44 - Jordan Gering is a 2016 graduate of Thunder Ridge High School. Football statistics and accomplishments include: 2013: Lettered, recorded 15 tackles; 2014: lettered, recorded 32 tackles, named League Honorable Mention Offensive Line and Defensive Line; 2015: Lettered, recorded 24 tackles, played 4 games due to injury senior year. Thunder Ridge was 2012 State Runner-Up, 2013 League Champions.
