Shirley Lanoue, Age 78

Shirley Esther Lanoue, age 78, lifetime Concordia resident, entered into rest on September 15, 2016 at her residence in Concordia. She was born on July 12, 1938 in Concordia to Andrew and Louise (Newcomb) Bergstrom.

She married Gerald Lanoue, on November 10, 1955 in Concordia, they would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this November.

Shirley was a homemaker and she enjoyed Crafts, Camping and most of all spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include her husband Gerald of the home, five children, Bob Lanoue (Carol), of Lawrence; Dave Lanoue, Lisa Woods (Mike), Don Lanoue (Cheryl), Kim Allen (Ron), sister, Valetta Collins all of Concordia; brother, Andrew Bergstrom, Jr., Linwood; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Larry and Bruce Lanoue, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the family residence, 1615 Olive St., Concordia, with Rev. Dean R. Frazier presiding.

Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.

The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice in c/o the funeral home.
