Anton (Tony) Kriks was born February 9, 1924, in Kaptol, Yugoslavia, to Johan and Maria Kriks. He had four brothers and one sister. He passed away on October 8, 2016 at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS at the age of 92 years.

During World War II, Yugoslavia was occupied by Germany and his family fled to Austria. Tony first worked in a stove factory, and in 1947, at an American Air Force Ordinance Center. Tony married Margret Weiland in 1946, and in 1952 they immigrated to the United States with three children under the auspices of Church World Services. They settled in Belleville where Tony was employed by car dealerships as a body repairman for 42 years, retiring at age 70. After the death of his first wife he married Gloria (Hall) Canfield in 1969, and later, Doris Blackburn in 1980.

A significant event in Tony's life occurred in 1947 when he accepted the Lord as his Savior. He was an active member and leader in the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Belleville and enjoyed engaging others in lively spiritual conversations. Tony loved working in his garden and sharing the fruits of his labors. He also found great pleasure in woodworking, helping others, and traveling with his wife.

Tony is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home; Albert Kriks (Carol), Pickrell, NE; Hilda Herron (Terry), Broken Arrow, OK; Erna Fabert (Steve), Topeka, KS; Herbert Kriks (Nancy), Hinckley, OH; Debbie Revelle (Roger), Olathe, KS; John Kriks (Michelle), Shawnee, KS; four step-children: Michael Blackburn (Lucinda), Wichita, KS; Patrick Blackburn (Shirley), Peyton, CO; Kathleen Stencel (David), Lincoln, NE; Timothy Blackburn (Brenda), Lakin, KS; 21 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Tony, a man well loved, and surely a life well lived.

Funeral services will be held Two PM, Saturday, October 15, 2016, Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS, conducted by, Pastor Rick Snodgrass.

Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.

Friends may call on Friday from 9 AM to 9 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS., where the family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
