Wanetta Wright, Age 78

Wanetta M. Wright, 78, Ionia, died at her home Thursday, January 5th, 2017. She was born April 28, 1938 in Edgar, NE. Her parents were Amos & Marie Higer. On February 21, 1957, she married the love of her life, Lyly "Coke" D. Wright in Fairbury, NE. They lived most of their life in Ionia. Born to this union were two daughters, Pam & Annete.

Wanetta was always in a caregiver role, starting with 12 years as a CNA at the Jewell County Hospital in Mankato. Coke and Wanetta owned & operated the Wrights Grocery Store in Ionia for 10 years. She cleaned houses and was a tireless & loving caregiver to several people in the Jewell & Ionia areas. Some of her greatest joys in life were spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren as well as hosting large family reunions for Memorial weekend and she would NEVER pass up a good game of marbles. Another favorite of Wanetta's was working with the flowers in her garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.

Wanetta will be deeply missed by her loving husband "Coke"; daughters Pam (Chad) Carter of Cawker City, KS and Annete (Steve) Roth of Dorchester, NE; grandchildren Molly (Sam) Rernpe, Robert & Chelsea Carter, Jennifer (Robert) Jeppesen, Emily (Caydan) Riley, Julie (Daniel) Coffey; great-granchildren Bishop Rempe, Marlee, Lillian, Peyton & Everly Jeppesen.

Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or United Methodist Church of Ionia, KS. Visitation will be Sunday, January 8th from 2-4pm at Kleppinger Funeral Home, Jewell, KS. which is handling arrangements. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 9th at 1:30pm at the Ionia United Methodist Church.
