Dorothy D. (Reeves) Alaimo, age 92, formerly of Concordia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 at The Gables of Overland Park, KS. She was born on Dec. 25, 1924 in Concordia, KS to Floyd W. and Hazel J. (Avery) Day.

Dot was a 1942 graduate of Concordia High School. She married her high school sweetheart Russell J. Reeves on May 23, 1943 in Concordia. They were proud parents of Diana, Becky and Mark. Russ preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1984.

She married James J. Alaimo Dec. 13. 1986 in Lake Elsinore, CA and lived there a few years before moving to Green Valley, AZ for 17 years. After James's death Dec. 25th, 2004 she moved to Olathe, KS to be near her family.

Dot lived in Concordia for 60 years. For over 15 years she was secretary for General Finance Company of Concordia and she was a member of First United Methodist Church. Later she joined Grace United Methodist Church, Olathe. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, watercolor painting, playing golf and playing and teaching bridge. She had many friends and loved her family and neighbors.

She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Bryant (William), Lenexa, KS, a son Mark Reeves (Nancy),
Wichita, KS, 2 brothers, Floyd Day, San Dimas, CA and Donald Day (Jackie), Cedar Hills, TX, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three step children and several step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Russell Reeves, 2nd husband, James Alaimo, her parents Floyd and Hazel Day, daughter Diana Palmquist and brother James Day.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm with the family greeting friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. 6th St, Concordia, KS, 66901.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 10:00 am, Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with Rev. Melanie Adams of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
