Gene F. Feight, age 83, entered into rest on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Cloud County Health Center in Concordia, Kansas. He was born on a farm north of Clyde on February 11, 1933 to Roy and Mary Feight.
Gene was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays, Kansas.
Gene served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. He was an airplane mechanic. He worked on the biggest plane made for the time. He was a Staff Sergeant.
Gene Married Teresa Nobert on August 28, 1954 in Clyde at the St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church and to this union came 3 sons, Joseph, Michael and Steve. From these sons he was blessed with 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The most important things in his life were his family, farming and ranching. He had the first buffalo herd in Cloud County.
Gene was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Feight, 2 sisters, Marlene Feight, Judy Feight Romero, his parents, Roy and Mary Feight
He is survived by his wife Teresa (Nobert) Feight of the home, 2 sons, Michael, Steve & Keri Feight all of Clyde; grandsons, Bryan and friend Jennifer, Bob & Joelle Feight, Granddaughter, Morgan Feight, and step-grandson, Lucas Elliott; 9 great-grandchildren; Also his caregiver and friend Sharon Haley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. all at Chaput Mortuary, with Fr. Steven Heina officiating. Family will receive friends after the Vigil Service.
Mass of a Christian burial will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2017 at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde, with Fr. Steven Heina officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post #7515 of Clyde.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Fund or the Clyde Ambulance Fund c/o Chaput Mortuary
