Nate Backhus, E1 - #55

Nate Backhus, Herington, is a 2017 graduate of Herington High School and plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Feed Science Management. Football statistics and accomplishments include: Honorable Mention Flint Hills League Defensive lIne 2014; K-Preps Honorable Mention District Defensive Line, 2nd Team Flint Hills League Defensive line 2015, K-Preps All District 1st Team Defensive line 2015, 1st Team All League Wheat State League 2016, Honorable Mention All State Topeka Capital Journal & Wichita Eagle. Herington was the Wheat State League Champions in 2016. Honors and accomplishments in wrestling include placed in the top 4 in every regular season tournament in the 2016-17 season. Activities and honors outside school include member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and 10 year 4-H member. Nate owns a small cow/calf operation that will fund is college education. He works for Tiffany Cattle Company as a pen rider and animal health technician. Activities and honors in school include FFA officer 2014, State Silver placing Livestock Judging 2015 and 2015 Chapter Star Farmer Degree. Nate's parents are John Backhus and Mardee & CJ Lincoln.
