Lois Irene Meyer of Deshler, NE the daughter of Richard and Hilda (Deterding) Eickmann was born February 10, 1927 in Deshler, NE. She departed this life Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 90 years. Lois grew up in the Deshler area attending school and graduating from Deshler High School. She was one of 3 children. After graduation she attended Peru State College receiving a teaching certificate. She taught at District 92 country school in rural Deshler. On April 18, 1948 she married Raymond Meyer at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters. The couple lived on a farm near Deshler, they moved to a farm near Hardy, NE and later to a farm near Davenport. The couple decided to try something different and purchased the Ranch House Motel in Jamestown, ND. They liked the motel business, meeting new people, and later sold the Ranch House Motel and purchased The Palmer Inn in York, NE. They later sold the motel in York and built a home in Deshler. Lois is best known for her baking of cinnamon rolls, cakes, pies and cookies. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, games, playing cards, and crafts, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers LeRoy and Dale Eickmann, brother and sister-in-laws Rudolph and Wilma Fangmeier, Bruno and Betty Fangmeier, Victor and Clara Meyer, Richard and Florine Meyer, Edwin and Ruby Hoops, Walter and Velma Meyer, Erwin and Mildred Hoops, Laverne Meyer, and Orville Meyer.

She is survived by two daughters; Susan Staehr and husband Danny of Lincoln, NE, and Sandra Meyer of Hebron, NE, grandchildren; Andrew Staehr and wife Jennifer of Lincoln, NE, William Staehr and wife Lacey of Lincoln, NE, great-grandchildren Christian, Bryce, Ella and Hunter Staehr, brother and sister in laws Bernard and Anita Betten of Hebron, NE, Donna Meyer of Ruskin, NE, JoAnne Meyer of Deshler, NE, and Jeannette Eickmann of Chico, CA, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE at 11 AM. Officiant will be Pastor Brian Francik. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24 2pm - 7pm at Kroll Funeral Home in Deshler, NE. Memorials in care of the family. Burial will be in Deshler City Cemetery.
