Jerron Baxter, Age 32

Jerron Joseph Baxter was born on July 6, 1985, to Garry and Lorrie (Bobbitt) Baxter, and departed this life on January 7, 2018, at the age of 32. Jerron graduated from Smith Center High School in 2004. He attended Brown Mackie College in Salina, took classes from Wichita State, and later earned athletic training certification. Jerron worked in retail, then as an assistant manager at a home improvement store, and also in the manufacturing field. He recently completed a mapping project for the Rooks County Museum that identified county schools and townships in the late 1800s. Jerron married Misty Ratliff on July 26, 2008. Daughter Ami Jo came into their lives in 2012 and her adoption was soon finalized. Jerron and Misty divorced in 2013. Jerron enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching football, developing strength and conditioning programs, history, hunting, and other outdoor activities.

Jerron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Ileta Baxter and Al and Bettie Bobbitt; aunt, Debbie Sidey; and uncle, Barry Baxter.

Left to mourn are his daughter, Ami Jo Baxter, Concordia; partner, Tanya Paul, and her two children, Alexa and Tyler, all of Concordia; his parents, Garry and Lorrie Baxter, Cedar; sister, Tammy (Jason) Channell, Beloit; brother, Ryan Baxter, Clyde; brother, Kurt Baxter, Cedar; nieces Haley, McKenna, and Addyson Channell, Beloit; aunts and uncles Larry and Norma Baxter, Holton; Dan and Karol Rice, Topeka; Janeil Baxter, Lawrence; Jack and Sherry Gager, Kirwin; John Sidey, Bunker Hill; Alvy and Terry Bobbitt, Kansas City; Bill and Christine Polzin, Hoisington; Randal Bobbitt, Claremore, OK; and several cousins and friends.
