Ernest Herring, Age 64

Ernest Lawrence Herring, "Junior", age 64 of Belleville, KS, entered into rest on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Republic County Health Center, Belleville, KS. He was born on January 30, 1953 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Ernest Lawrence Herring, Sr. and Loretta Irene (Horner) Herring. Junior was a 1972 graduate of Belleville High School. He served in the United States Army for 8 years and was honorably discharged. He married Kathryn Brand on April 15, 1978 in St. Louis, Missouri and they later divorced. Junior was a paramedic for Republic County EMS, he also worked in construction throughout his life. He was owner/operator of A.J.'S Café in Belleville from 2001-2006. He was known for making cakes, especially for birthdays and weddings. Junior made the biggest and best cinnamon rolls loved by all. He was known for and loved helping people throughout his life.

He is survived by his son, Shaun Herring (Samantha Clark), Belleville, KS.; Beth Herring, Belleville, KS.; Sister, Barbara Johnson (Harold), Marysville, KS.; sister, Carolyn Sue Ashland, Abilene, KS.;. 4 grandchildren, Angel, Parker, Julian and Emery. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family selected cremation & a Memorial Gathering will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Sat., Feb. 3, 2018 at the Golden Bell Haven, 1401 17th St, Belleville, KS 66935.
