Allen George Sander, the son of George and Margaret (Carter) Sander, was born on January 30, 1929 in Trenton, Nebraska. He passed away on April 1, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 2 months, 2 days. Allen was one of six children. He attended Beverley Elementary school and graduated from Trenton High School. After graduating he enlisted with the United States Navy on January 29, 1947, he proudly served as a hospital corpsman stationed with the marines in Adak, Alaska and on the hospital ship USS Constellation, he was honorably discharged on November 9, 1953. He was a 79-year member of the United Methodist Church. On July 7, 1957, Allen was united in marriage to Katheryn Disney in Arapahoe, Nebraska, and to this union Terry and Debra were born. He was employed through the Bureau of Reclamation, retired after 30 years of service. Allen lived in the communities of Trenton, Stockton, Arapahoe, McCook, Beloit, Kansas before moving to Superior, Nebraska. He was on the Church Administration Board, and a member of the American Legion Post #337 in Trenton and was on Bowling Leagues. Allen was an avid gardener and loved to travel. He planned vacations to include visits to family members whenever possible. He loved all sports and enjoyed many trips to Lincoln to watch the Huskers play. He entered the Good Samaritan Society on March 26, 2018, where he resided until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Katheryn on May 31, 2015; his brother, Dean Sander and sisters, Helen Campbell, Virginia Smith and baby Doris Marie.

He is survived by his son, Terry of Omaha, Nebraska and his daughter Debra Eschliman and husband Paul of Lincoln, Nebraska; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and his brother Dale and wife Sandra of North Chicago, Illinois; other relatives and a host of friends.

Celebration of Life Service held at: First United Methodist Church, Superior, NE.

Time of Service: Friday, April 6, 2018, at 10:00 am

Burial at 3:00 pm with military honors: Arapahoe Memorial Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska
