Agnes Larson, Age 93

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Ada Lutheran Church, rural Courtland, KS with inurnment to follow in the Ada Lutheran Cemetery. No visitation is planned at the funeral home, but friends are invited to greet the family prior to and after the services at the Church.

Agnes Marie Olson Larson, 93, passed away February 25, 2018, at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS.

She was born February 16, 1925, to Richard and Mary Olson on the family farm south of Courtland. She attended elementary school at School District 99 and graduated from Kackley High School. She then attended Brown Mackie Business School in Salina. She worked as a secretary until her marriage to Eldon Larson in 1945.

Agnes and Eldon farmed and kept dairy cows until they moved to Kackley in 1956. She was a charter member of the Eager Beaver Home Extension Club.

Throughout her life, Agnes was an active member of Ada Lutheran Church, serving on the church council, joint parish council, altar guild, women's circle, Lutheran Women's Group, and quilting group. She also served as a hospice volunteer. She sewed many of the clothes worn by her children as they grew up and enjoyed crocheting.

She took great pride in raising a variety of flowers and providing bouquets for church services at Ada and sharing them with friends.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Eldon; parents Richard and Mary Olson; brothers Bertil, Andrew, and Lester Olson and daughters Elaine Larson Woodson and Mary Nell Larson Deblois.

She is survived by son, Jim (Carol) Larson; son-in-law Joe Deblois; daughter, Ruth Ann Larson (David) Nice; grandchildren Jeanette (Matt) Fiess; Jonathan (Salli) DeBlois, Jessica (Marty Malenshek) DeBlois; great-grandchildren Cameron and Maggie Fiess; and nephew Larry (Terry) Olson and niece Cindy (Lanny) LaRue.

Cremation has taken place and Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas, is in charge of arrangements.
