Margaret Reece, Age 97

Margaret Ellen Stensaas Graham Reece was born on the family farm near Norway to Esther & Clarence (CB) Stensaas on January 13, 1921, and was called to her heavenly home on April 5, 2018. Margaret attended Fairview Elementary School and graduated from Norway High School in 1938. On July 20, 1941, Margaret married John Clair Graham at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norway. They were married 41 years, lived on the farm south of Norway and had 3 children, Jo Susan (Jody), Jack Benton and Jill Elaine. John passed away May 15, 1983, and Margaret married Jack Reece on January 12, 2001. Jack died June 17, 2007. Margaret was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norway. She was very active in the Ladies Aid for many years. She particularly enjoyed the quilting projects and the annual bazaars. Her hobbies were playing cards with friends, gardening, sewing and baking raisin bread - the family favorite. Travel was also a favorite pass-time. Her family nickname was "Go-Go".

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jack Benton Graham; grandson, Marty Allen Vest: granddaughter Wendy Marie Graham, great-grandson Ryan Paul Empson, brother Glenn(Shorty) Stensaas, sister & brother-in-law Dorothy and Lee Loring, sister-in-law Ellie Stensaas and son-in-law Jim Bayes.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jo Corbin (Tom) and Jill Bayes; three grandchildren, Raif Anderson (Kristen), Ingrid Spencer (Mike) and Wade Jensik (Angie), five great-grandchildren (Haaken Anderson, Marshall & Milan Spencer and Claire & Emily Jensik), brother Lawrence Stensaas, sister-in-law Joyce Stensaas, multiple nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. There have been numerous friends and family members offering care and support throughout this "Alzheimer's journey" and their efforts are greatly appreciated. Extra thanks for going above and beyond go to Joyce Stensaas, niece Kathy Cox and nephew Arnold (Butch) Loring.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11 at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS. Friends may call from 1 PM to 8 PM. Family will greet friends from 6 PM until 7 PM. A celebration of her life will be at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norway on Thursday, April 12, at 2:00 PM with Interment at Fairview Cemetery rural Norway, KS, followed by sharing of memories over lunch at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norway.
