Kenneth Ray (Kenny) Havel, 77, of Belleville, KS, the son of Emil H. Havel and Frances Arlene Havel, was born December 21, 1940, in Concordia, KS and passed away on May 1, 2018, at Belleville, KS. He was raised in the Wayne and Cuba, KS area, graduating from Kunkel Rural District #73 and later from Cuba High School in 1958. He then attended the Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, KS, receiving an associate's degree in accounting. Kenny served with the Army National Guard Unit in Belleville, KS until his honorable discharge. On August 19, 1962, he was united in marriage to Darlene M. Begnoche and to this union was born, Monte, Johnny, and Melana. The couple lived and farmed near Wayne and Cuba, KS until 1987 when they moved to Belleville, where Kenny was a custodian at the County Courthouse and farmed part-time until his retirement. Kenny enjoyed attending school activities, harvesting crops, and K-State Football. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son: Johnny, and his wife Darlene on June 15, 2016, and his companion dog, Tipper.

Kenny is survived by one son, Monte R. (Pam) Havel, of Burlingame, KS; one daughter, Melana (Scott) Sandquist, of Smolan, KS; 7 grandchildren, Nick (Syndie) Havel, Tiffany (Chris) Croucher, Chris Sandquist, Steph (Spencer) Brown, Lindsey Sandquist, Lynsay Torrez and Sam Torrez; two great-grandchildren, Katie Brown and Calel Havel; one sister, Charlene (Jim) Havel of Mt. Angel, Oregon; other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, May 4, 2018, at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS with Shawn Baird, officiating. Interment will be at the National Bohemian (Kopsa) Cemetery, Cuba, KS. Friends may call from One PM until 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 PM until 7 PM on Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the Republic County Hospital or the Meadowlark Hospice. Online condolences at www.bachelor-surber.com.
