Kenneth D. Gentler, 88, formerly of Portis, KS, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018 in Temple, TX at the Wildflower House. He was born to Leslie & Alma (Schenk) Gentzler of Fairbury, NE. When Kenny was 2 years old, his family moved to Portis, KS, where he lived most of his life. He moved to Texas 2 years ago. Kenneth graduated from Portis High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1954. Kenneth married Carolyn Bell & to this union, 2 daughters were born. Kenneth worked as a Bulk Oil Salesman for Midway Coop. He also helped to build several buildings in Portis, KS. Kenneth got his first Harley motorcycle when he was 40 years old. He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Portis.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn in 2011. He is survived by his daughters: Kena Stroup of International Falls, MN; Keely (Jim) Throneburg of Killeen, TX; brother: Norman Gentzler of Overland Park, KS; 6 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.
