Ray Vizner, the son of Charles Joe Vizner and Lydia Ann (Boyd) Vizner was born May 31, 1944, in Belleville, KS and passed away at his home in Belleville on August 11, 2018, at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 10 days.

Ray grew up in Republic County graduating from Munden High School in 1962. He then attended the Shilling Technical College in Salina, KS. In January of 1963, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Leahy until his honorable discharge on December 16, 1966. After his service, he returned to the Munden, KS area where he farmed north of Munden and worked at the Hiatt Grain and Feed from 1970 until 1983 and then for the Farmway Coop from 1983 until his retirement in 2015. On November 19, 1967, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Mae Crossno and she survives. Ray was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion in Belleville for many years. He also was a member of the Belleville and Munden Rural Fire Departments for nearly 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lydia Vizner.

Ray is survived by his wife, Rebecca M. Vizner of Belleville, KS; and children, Don Vizner of Wichita, KS, Brenda (Mike) Shook of Belle Plaine, KS, John (Christa) Vizner of Jefferson City, MO, Tammy (George) Friesen of Wellington, KS, and Joe (Barbie) Vizner of Lincoln, NE; 15 grandchildren; one sister Phyllis Noland of rural Munden, KS and one brother, Lee Vizner of Belleville, KS, other relatives and friends.

Cremation was selected and Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS with Pastor Mike Samples, officiating. Military services will be conducted by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard, Wichita, KS. The family will greet friends prior to and after the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
