Larry Dean Bergstrom, age 60, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas. He was born on November 28, 1958 in Concordia, Kansas to Elden and Margaret (Hefner) Bergstrom.
He was a 1977 graduate of Courtland High School. He received his Associates degree from Cloud County Community College, Concordia.
He married Jan Wiltse on June 18, 1978 at the First Christian Church in Concordia and to this union 3 children were born, Erik, Dea, and Danielle. He later married Gloria Schell in March of 2004.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post #76 all of Concordia.
Larry served with the Cloud County Sheriff's Department for 26 years and was active Sheriff for 16 of those years. He also was a EMT for City of Concordia.
Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his beloved family.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Bergstrom, Concordia; a son, Erik Bergstrom and friend Tabatha, Manhattan, KS.; 2 daughters, Dea Bergstrom Novak (Mark), Haddam, KS.; Danielle Haskett (Lancyio), Concordia, KS.; his mother, Margaret Bergstrom, Courtland, KS.; 2 brothers, Terry Bergstrom, Courtland, KS.; Kevin Bergstrom (Heather), Wamego, KS.; 2 step-daughters, Susan Coleman (Rick), Eudora, KS.; Nancy Bross (Nate), Chicago, Ill., 11 grandchildren, Kyler, Kolton, Kloey, Korbyn, Krystabella & Khuentin Haskett, Destyni, Blake, Arika, Garett, & Emma Novak, 4 Step-grandchildren, Vanessa, Gabriel, Gertie and Ezekiel.
He was preceded in death by his father Elden Bergstrom.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 1-6 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with a Rosary service at 4:00 p.m., with family receiving friends after the Rosary Service.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Fr. David Metz and Pastor Al Paredes officiating. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
