Kathryn Ann Larkins, 60

Kathryn Ann Larkins of Chester, NE the daughter of Darrell and Darlene (Johnson) Messman was born December 20, 1958 in Hebron, NE. She departed this life Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, NE at the age of 60 years.
Kathy grew up in Bruning, NE attending school and graduated with the class of 1977. During high school, she went on different youth mission trips, caring for many different people. After graduation she continued her education attending South East Community College receiving her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She married James Priefert June 11, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Bruning, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of four children.
Her mission in life was helping people. She worked at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron and then Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron where she was still working at the time of her death.
She married Duane Larkins September 5, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Chester, NE. He brought so much joy to her life. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Hebron before moving to Chester where she played the organ and piano for Sunday service and many different occasions.
Her main joy in her life was spending time with her family, especially being "Meemaw" to her grandchildren. The family loved her cooking and she took joy in preparing wonderful meals for them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and one infant son Jarod Scott Priefert.
She is survived by her husband Duane of Chester, NE, sons; Brandon Priefert and wife Jenny of Gretna, NE, and Chadley Priefert and Tara Caroon of Hebron, NE, daughter Paige Culler and husband Tanner of Omaha, NE, sisters; Becky Sandman and husband Don of Utica, NE, and Mary Otto and husband Tim of Bellevue, NE, brother Darrell Messman Jr. and wife Pauline of Beatrice, Ne, grandchildren; Grayson, Rylan and Hayden Priefert, Hudson Priefert, Kipton and on the way baby Aylin Ann Culler, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Chester, NE at 10 AM. Officiant will be Pastor Rick Jones, organist Diane Smith, recorded hymn "Its A Wonderful World", special music by Tyler Sorenson and Emma Petherick,"Supermarket Flowers", congregational hymn "Amazing Grace". Casket bearers; Trent Otto, Travis Otto, Nate Messman, Ryan Messman, Trevor Messman and Andrew Wilshusen. Honorary casket bearers are the grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, January 6 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron 2-7 PM with family greeting friends 5-7PM. Condolences may be left a www.krollfh.com. Memorials in care of family. Burial will be in Bruning Public Cemetery. Kroll Funeral Home of Hebron, NE is in charge of arrangements.
