Norman L. Walton, age 86, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas. He was born October 20, 1932 in Belleville, Kansas to Lyle and Thelma (Way) Walton.
He was a 1950 graduate of Concordia High School.
On February 24, 1952 he married Marilyn S. McDaniel at Concordia, Kansas. Together they had 3 children: Lawrence, Stephen and Cynthia. He was also known to many as Mel.
Norman worked several places including Cloud Ceramics, Boogaarts, retiring from both. He also spent years putting up T.V. antennas. He was one of the first people in Concordia to be a two-way radio ham operator.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Concordia, KS.
Norman enjoyed photography, traveling and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Graham, Hutchinson, KS.; son, Larry Walton (Dawn), Blue Springs, MO.; daughter-in-law, Sherry Walton, St. George, KS; grandchildren, Shane Walton, Scott Walton, Shanielle Wenzl, Sara Happ, Steven Graham, Seth Walton, Abby Steffen, Tyler Graham, Selia Walton, and Andrew Wyrick; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, parents, Lyle and Thelma, son, Stephen Walton, and infant brother, Keith Walton.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the First Christian Church, Concordia, Kansas with Pastor Jason Van Pelt officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-7 pm all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
