Paul D. Blecha, 75

Paul Dean Blecha, the son of Rudolph Blecha and Clara (Fisher) Blecha, was born March 8, 1944 in Belleville, Kan., and passed away on August 15, 2019 in Belleville, Kan., at the age of 75 years, 5 months, and 7 days.
Paul graduated from Agenda High School in 1961 and later received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kan.
Paul was a Junior High Social Science Teacher in Chanute, Kan., public schools for 21 years. He then was an elementary school counselor in Chanute Public Schools for 13 years.
On July 13, 1962, he was united in marriage to Carol Sue Lowe and to this union was born, Amy, Daniel, and Matthew. The couple retired in 2002 and returned to Belleville to make their home in 2008.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Clara Blecha; one brother, Robert Blecha; sister-in-law, Becky Blecha; father-in-law, Lloyd Erickson; and brother-in-law, Marc Erickson.
Paul is survived by his wife, Carol Blecha of Belleville, Kan.; two sons, Daniel (Erin) Blecha of Waukeshaw, Wis., and Matthew Blecha of Louisburg, Kan.; one daughter, Amy (Rick) Horine of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Megan DeVries, Chelsea DeVries, Grace Blecha, and Lee Williams; mother-in-law, Vivian Erickson; brother-in-law, Tom (Julie) Erickson; sister-in-law, Janet (Nicholas) Jones; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cremation was selected and memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, KS with Pastor Robert Frasier officiating.
Family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Hawks Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS.
The family will greet friends at the United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, Kan., from 10 AM until 11 AM on Saturday, August 24, prior to the memorial services. No visitation is planned at the funeral home.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Chanute, KS on Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
Memorials are suggested to Meadowlark Hospice or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
