Peggy M. Pickard, 86

Peggy M. Pickard, the daughter of Frank Anderson and Magdaline (Christian) Anderson, was born January 20, 1933 in rural Agenda, Kan., and passed away on August 14, 2019 at Salina, Kan., at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 20 days.
Peggy grew up in rural Agenda, graduating from Agenda High School. She then attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught school in Topeka, Kan., and later moved to Chattanooga, Tenn.
In 1965, she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where she taught in Elementary School from 1965 until 1980. Peggy moved to Agenda and owned and operated the Agenda Café for several years. She later substitute taught at the Clifton-Clyde School District for several years until her retirement.
Peggy was united in marriage to Bob Bishop and to this union was born: Brett, Scott, and Tim. In 1985, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Pickard and the couple made their home in rural Agenda, Kan.
Peggy was a member of the United Methodist Church, Agenda, Kan., and active in P.E.O.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Bishop; and husband, Bill Pickard, in 2013.
Peggy is survived by two sons, Brett Bishop of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tim (Trish) Bishop of Concordia, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Cindy Bishop of Phoenix, Ariz.; step children, Mike (Jody) Pickard of Byars, Okla., Joan Pickard of Clyde, Kan., and William Pickard of Agenda, Kan.; three grandchildren, Michael Bishop, Kati Bishop and Danny Bishop, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; one great grandchild, Kash Hollis; step grandchildren, Tricia Pickard and Shayne (Cimarron) Boardman, both of Stephenville, Texas; step great-grandchildren, Blakely and Breck Boardman; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the United Methodist Church, Agenda, Kan., with Reverend Sang Hak Lee officiating.
Interment will follow at the Agenda Cemetery, rural Agenda.
Friends may call from 1 PM until 8 PM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kan., where the family will greet friends from 6 PM until 8 PM.
Memorials are suggested to the Agenda United Methodist Church.
