Dorothy Frances Miller, 94

Dorothy Frances Miller, 94, of Independence, Mo., passed away in her home on February 2, 2020. She was born on January 8, 1926 in Osborne, Kan., to John D. and Alice M. (Smith) O'Connor. She was one of several children.
She graduated from Osborne High School in 1943. She married Delmar E. Miller of Osborne in Olathe, Kan., on September 21, 1946. They had one son, Charles E. Miller.
Dorothy and Delmar owned four bakeries in the Kansas City area. They took early retirement and sold the bakeries.
She enjoyed working in her yard with her hostas. She also collected angels. Dorothy was a member of the Blue Ridge Christian Church and of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar; her parents; sister, Lola Mitchell; brother, Paul O'Connor; two nephews, John O'Connor and Robert Elliott; and a niece, Rebecca Elliott.
She is survived by son, Charles of Independence, Mo.; sister, JoAnn Elliott of Glasco, Kan.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Osborne City Cemetery, West Highway 24, Osborne, Kan.
