Magdelena Klaumann, Age 86

Magdelena Josephine Klaumann,86, passed away at the Smokey Hill Rehabilitation Center, Salina on August 14, 2016. She was born to George Blazek, Sr. and Josephine (Kouba) Blazek, on December 4, 1929 at rural Cuba, KS. Magdelena grew up in Cuba, KS, attending the local public schools, graduating from Cuba High School in 1947, later working at Lang Grocery Store at Cuba from 1953 until 1958. On June 8, 1957, she was united in marriage to Clarence H. Klaumann and to this union was born: Trudy, Nancy, and Kayleen. The couple made their home in Belleville, KS where she was a cook and custodian for the Belleville Public Schools from 1980 until her retirement in 2002. Magdelena was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge of Cuba, KS and the American Legion Post #345 Auxiliary, Cuba, KS.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence in 1982, two brothers, Joseph E. Blazek and George Blazek, Jr; two sisters, Helen Klima and Elsie Nobert; and one great grandson, Chance Killen. 

Survivors: three daughters, Trudy Killen, Nancy (Robert) Lohf, and Kayleen (Terry) Chaput all of Salina, KS; six grandchildren, Jedediah (Earlisha) Killen, Jeremiah (C.J.) Killen, Christopher (Sarah) Lohf, Amanda Lohf, Elizabeth Higgins, and Bret Higgins; two great grandchildren, Phaydynn and Keegan Killen; other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS. Interment at the National Bohemian (Kopsa) Cemetery, Cuba,KS.

Visitation from 9 AM until 9 PM on Wednesday with the family greeting friends from 5 PM until 7 PM at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home.
