Edmund Buer, Age 84

Edmund W. Buer, age 84, rural Norway, KS, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Belleville Health Care, Belleville, KS. He was born on the family farm west of Norway, KS, on June 29, 1933 to Harry O. & Elda F. (Kelly) Buer. Ed graduated from Courtland High School in 1951. He served in the US Army from Nov. 1953 to Aug. 1955. He married Susan E. McMillan on Dec. 1, 1957. Ed was a lifelong dairyman and farmer. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Norway where he was active in the church teaching Sunday school, serving on the church board and the Peace Parish board. Ed also served on the Norway Township Board, Pike Valley School Board, and as a Republic County Commissioner. He was a member of the American Legion.

He will be missed by his wife Sue of the home; sons, Kirby (Cindy) of rural Scandia; Kyle (Tracy) of Derby, KS; Kent (Marcy) of Salina, KS; daughter Kamy Parks of Goddard, KS; grandchildren, Braden (Jennie) Buer, Megan (Justin) Klozenbucher; Bailey Buer, Kolton Buer, Kailyn Dinkel; Kaden (Paige) Buer, Karly Buer; Thomas Parks and Tarra Parks; great-grandchild, Lailah Dinkel; sister Inez (Jim) Tillery of Kingston, OK, brother Bruce (Lin) of Silverton, OR, brother-in-law John Edwards of rural Jewell, KS and sister-in-law Pauline McMillan of Beloit, KS.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Rosalie Edwards.

The family selected cremation and will have a Memorial service at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Norway with Rev. Thomas Kamprath & Al Urich, PMA officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588 following the memorial services. Private family burial will be at a later date. Friends may sign the register book Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 from 9 am to 9 pm with the family greeting friends from 5:30 to 7 pm, all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
