Nancy L. Jones, age 77, Concordia, KS, passed away at her home in Concordia on Wed., Jan. 31, 2018. She was born on Feb. 23, 1940 in Concordia, KS to Leo A. & Donna E. (Burton) Paulsen. She graduated from Concordia High School in 1957. She married Emmett G. Jones on June 1, 1957 and he preceded her on July 8, 1968. She served as Deputy Clerk from 1970 to 1980 and then was the Clerk of Dist. Court and Chief Clerk of the 12th Judicial Dist. from 1980 to 1990. She went back to school and earned her B.S. from Friends University in 1991. Nancy then was the director of Social Services for Sunset Nursing Home from 1990 until her retirement. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Concordia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett; her parents; grandson, Anthony Anderson; brother, Jack Paulsen & sister JoAnn Paulsen.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Marsha Anderson (Anthony), Concordia; sons, Michael Jones (Rebecca), Beloit & Mark Jones (Paula), Jamestown; sisters, Sally (David) Lord, Lawrence; Nora (Jim) Clausius of Camp Point, Ill., and Sandra (Joe) Detrixhe, Concordia; sister-in-law, Bobbie Paulsen, Glasco; 7 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Presbyterian Church, Concordia with Pastor Bob Frasier officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with the family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Chapter EV of P.E.O. or First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
