LaDonna Jean Heider of Hebron, NE the daughter of Edward and Frieda (Wilkening) Vinkenberg was born September 5, 1931, in Carleton, NE. She departed this life Saturday, April 21, 2018, at One Terrance Circle in Hebron, NE at the age of 86 years. LaDonna was baptized September 13, 1931, by Pastor Theo Droegemueller and confirmed Palm Sunday, March 25, 1945, by Pastor A.H. Mette both at Trinity Lutheran Church (Friedensau) Hebron, NE. She attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Deshler High School with the class of 1949. She continued her education attending Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing graduating September of 1952. She worked at the Superior Hospital and Hebron Hospital during her nursing career over 40 years. She married Robert Heider December of 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedensau. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters, Kathryn and Nancy. LaDonna was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid (LWML) and Priscilla League. She was also a member of Deshler Legion Auxiliary, Extension Club, BPW, various bridge clubs and Hebron Bible Club. She enjoyed life on the farm, being out in God's great creation. Also playing golf, reading, and especially spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Frieda, husband Robert, daughter Nancy Turek, brothers; Dwight and Virgil Vinkenberg, and infant brother Adrian.
She is survived by one daughter Kathryn Heider of Grand Forks, ND, sister-in-law Verona Hofts and husband Dennis of Colorado, and sister-in-law Majorie Vinkenberg of Hebron, NE, grandchildren; Jenna Chase and husband Lukas of Grand Forks, ND, Kara Buchhop and husband Zachary of Grand Forks, ND, Angela Turek and husband Richard Pintler of Aurora, CO, Robert Turek and wife Amber of Grand Island, NE, great-grandchildren; Isabella and Charles Pintler, Austin Wintermute, Amelia and Emilynn Buchhop, Xander Turek and Justice Chase, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedensau, NE at 10:30 AM. The officiant will be Pastor Jose Flores, organist Lois Pohlmann, congregational hymns "How Great Thou Art", "Beautiful Savior", Amazing Grace" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". Visitation will be Wednesday, April 25 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron from 2 to 7 PM. Casket bearers: Bill Swenson, Dan Vinkenberg, Aaron Vinkenberg, Adam Duensing, Bob Duensing, and Bruce Hayes.
