LaVern E. Myers, 85, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Smith County Memorial Hospital, Smith Center, KS. He was born August 7, 1932, in Haddam, KS, the son of Harold and Florence (Mahoney) Myers. On June 21, 1953, he married Emily June Trybom in Clifton, KS. This union was blessed with three children, Debbie, Annie and, Lonnie. LaVern was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
LaVern was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim Myers and two sisters, Fern Bernard and Mary Lou O'Blennis.
He is survived by his wife June Myers of Jewell; daughters, Debbie (Richard) Conrad of Gaylord, Annie (Larry) Lambert of Smith Center; a son, Lonnie (Sheila) Myers of Jewell; a brother, Harold Myers of Washington; a sister, Geneva Hiltgen of Mankato; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2018, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, Smith Center, with Pastors Brian Loreg and Keith Sears presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and until service time Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Smith Center, KS. Memorials may be given to the Smith County Memorial Hospital and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
