Mildred Esther Fogle, age 87, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, Kansas. She was born September 7, 1931 to John and Ruby (Boston) Applegarth.
She received her B.S. from Kansas State University in Elementary Education in 1971 and M.S. in Special Education in 1977. She taught for 10 years before moving to Alaska where she was involved in missions with Kodiak Baptist Mission. After moving to Anchorage she took a job in the engineering field as an Administrative Assistant. She was transferred to California where she worked at various jobs sites until retiring and returning to Kansas. She enjoyed gardening and being busy outdoors.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church, Concordia.
On January 4, 1955 she married H. Dean Fogle in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1996.
Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Horkman (John), Concordia, KS., son, Tim Fogle (LeAnn), Glasco, KS., 6 grandchildren, Christopher Fogle (Jill) of Bel Air, KS, and their children Ryan and Molly, Amanda Bowers, Colby, KS., and her children, Shea and Shyla, Elizabeth Lundquist (Jesse), Edson, KS., and their children, Ethan and Grace, Sarah LaRosh (Kenton), Osborne, KS., and their children Kayla, Kalob and Kody, Chelsey Horkman, Concordia, KS., Carly Loos (Dave), Lincoln, NE., 3 brothers, Fred Applegarth (Marilyn), Morrowville, KS., Walter Applegarth (Judy), Beatrice, NE., Elmer Applegarth (Caroline), Morrowville, KS., 5 sisters, Elsie Hughes, Roswell, NM., Dorothy Kershner (Don), Columbus, OH., Arva Wenger (Herb), Louisburg, KS., Della Goldsberry (Steve), Washington, KS., Wilma Naylor, Lincoln, NE., daughter-in-law, Leslie Fogle, Plainville, KS., many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Dean Fogle, son, Howard Fogle, parents, John and Ruby Applegarth, 3 brothers, Bill, Ray and Earnest Applegarth, 2 sisters, Grace Haak and Edith Love.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 27, 2018 with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Mark McGregor officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
