Bruce A. Alderman, 73

Bruce A. Alderman - father, husband, and brother - passed away at the age of 73 in McKinney, Texas on February 22. Bruce was born on December 14, 1945, in Superior, Nebraska to Walter and Doris (Nelson) Alderman-Bohling. He served in the United States Army National Guard from 1966 until 1972.
On October 8, 1967 he married Roz Yost, and they had a daughter, Tiffany Alderman. On July 10, 2015, Bruce married Paula Klafke in South Dakota.
Bruce was baptized November 10, 1947, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin by Rev. J.H. Peterson and confirmed April 10, 1960, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin by Rev. B.J. Enskow. He was a member of Northwest Christian Church in McKinney, Texas. He attended high school in Ruskin and Davenport (Class of 1964), and attended college at Milford Technical and Fairbury Junior College.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father Walter, his mother Doris, and his brother, Dr. Mark Alderman. He is survived by his wife Paula, daughter Tiffany of Dallas, Texas, grandson Jett Vieregge of Dallas, Texas, stepdaughter Jessica Iwanski of Princeton, Texas, brothers Gordon (and Mary) Alderman of Cleburne, Texas, and Douglas (and Ann) Alderman of Henderson, Nevada, sister Sheila (and Craig) Reinke of Omaha, Nebraska, step-brothers Randy (and Sherry) Bohling of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Tom (and Barbara) Bohling of Davenport, Nebraska, step-sister Patty (and Kerwin) Elting of Davenport, Nebraska, half-sisters Alison (Alderman-Dreher) and Tim Dreher of LaVista, Nebraska, Rebecca (Alderman) and Jay Molgaard of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jill (Alderman) and Kenn Anderson of LaVista, Nebraska, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Bruce spoke frequently of his time in Ruskin and Davenport. He loved to recall the good times spent with school friends and stayed in contact with many of them over the years. For many years, Bruce worked in retail electronics, sold farm and commercial buildings, and served as a supervisor and foreman on crews assembling grain bins. One of his fondest memories was working with his mother to promote and coordinate the building of the Davenport Community Building in 1976, a building that continues to serve the community Bruce loved.
An Open House gathering will be hosted at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Nebraska on Saturday, June 8, from 8-10 a.m. A memorial and interment service will follow at the Spring Creek Cemetery in Ruskin, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend both gatherings. The Price Funeral Home will be in charge of the service. Memorials will be directed to the Davenport Community Building for floor replacement.
