Cylus A. Johnson, 83

Cylus A. Johnson, age 83, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his residence in rural Concordia, Kansas. Cy was born September 6, 1935 to Albert and Elsie (Chapman) in rural Salina, Kansas.
He was a 1953 graduate of Kipp High School, Kipp, Kansas. He served in the Army National Guard for 10 years.
He married Donna Jean Liedtke on May 24, 2002 at the Lutheran Church in Concordia, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Cy has been a heavy equipment operator and involved in construction since 1953.
He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Glasco, American Legion Post #76, Moose Lodge, Concordia, and Mitchel County Water District #3, where he served as a board member.
Cy was an avid KU basketball fan, he also enjoyed fishing, and making homemade ice cream for family gatherings. Cy was always willing to help others and he helped organize "The Pope's People".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elsie; two daughters, Amy J. Johnson and Barbara Jarvis.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; daughter, Debra Boselman, Salina, KS; a son, David Johnson (Lois), Salina, KS; stepdaughter, Lisa Deal, Moundridge, KS; two stepsons, James Wilson (Ronda), Concordia, KS, Daniel Wilson (Tabitha), Minneapolis, KS; a brother, Don Johnson (Marge), Salina, KS; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 pm. all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia.
Celebration of life service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Glasco, Kansas with Jim Winter officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later time.
