Lawrence Tanis, Age 97

Lawrence Tanis, 97, died June 5, 2015. He was born August 8, 1917 to Martin and Laura (Sneller) Tanis. He was a member of Dispatch Christian Reformed Church, a World War II veteran and a farmer.

Survivors include: his wife, Ileen, of the home; daughters, Lois (James) Veenstra of Lombard, Illinois; Linda (Russell) Groenendyk of Downs, KS; Leanne (Rodney) Jansen of Grinnell, Iowa; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church, Downs, KS. There will be a visitation Sunday, June 4 from 2-4 p.m. at Domoney Funeral Home. Burial will be in the East Dispatch Cemetery. Memorial funds have been established to the Bible League and the Smith County Memorial Hospital. Domoney Funeral Home, Downs, KS is in charge of arrangements.
