BBQ Cook-Off Canceled
The Beloit Area Chamber of Commerce is sorry to announce the BBQ Cook-off planned for this weekend has been cancelled. Due to illness and scheduling conflicts with some participants the cook-off is being cancelled. The Chamber is planning to have another cook-off in conjunction with the Farm Home & Garden Show next Spring.

Car Show Weekend
The 16th Annual Solomon Valley Car Show will be this Saturday in Beloit. Be sure to visit downtown Beloit to see some wonderful antique and custom cars and trucks. Registration will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.. Judging will be done from Noon to 2:30 and trophies will be presented at 4:00 p.m. Two large trophies will be given for the Merchants' Choice and Eagles Choice. Free dash plaques will be given to all participants.
Merchants will have specials on Saturday. There will be games for the kids and a Poker-walk for participants in the car show.
There will be something for everyone at the Eagles Car Show this Saturday in downtown Beloit.

Becker Autos Celebrating 2nd Anniversary
Becker Autos of Beloit has been serving the area for two years now. Their original location in Downs has been open for over 25 years and the addition of the Beloit lot has been their newest venture. Becker Autos not only offers quality used vehicles but has branched into all sorts of inventory. The past summer they have took off with a large inventory of campers, have offered some boats, ATV's and motorcycles. Carports have also been a great seller in the past couple years with the unpredictable Kansas weather. With the addition of employee Blake Housh, the Beloit location is now offering automobile accessories and installation which include grille guards, running boards, tonneau covers, fender flares, chrome accents and more to spice up your vehicle. They hope to soon begin to offer even more services with the addition of a bigger shop area.

Becker Autos of Beloit will be offering a customer appreciation day on Saturday, September 25th in celebration of their 2 year birthday. They will have free hotdogs and pop from 11AM-1PM, have special markdowns through the week, as well as door prize sign up for all that attend Saturday's normal business hours from 9AM to 3PM.
The Mitchell County Safe Kids department will be hosting a free car seat check from 10AM to noon the Saturday of the 25th. All parents, grandparents, and anyone that may use a car seat for transporting a child are encouraged to attend and assure their children are safely secured.

Heart Choices Walk/Run 4 Life
Heart Choices annual Walk/Run for Life will be Sunday, September 26 in Chautauqua Park. The annual fundraising event benefits Heart Choices programs to help provide parenting services to clients from 15 North Central Kansas counties and sexual integrity presentations to 24 area schools.
At the Walk/Run 4 Life event you may participate individually, or as a part of a team (maximum team size - 10 people). You also have the option of paying only the $20 registration fee, OR collecting pledges for Heart Choices. Anyone who registers by September 17 and pays the $20 registration fee or collects pledges amounting to $20 or more will receive a FREE T-SHIRT. It is not necessary to walk, run, or bike to register.
The event will be Sunday, September 26th held in Chautauqua Park
Registration Starts 2:15.

3:35 5K Run Starts
3:45 4 Mile Bike Race Starts (14 and older)

Bloodmobile
The Beloit Community Blood Drive will be Monday, October 4 from 11:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Red Cross staff will set up in the gymnasium at the NCK Technical College, located at 3033 US Highway 24.
