John O. Cory, 87

John O. Cory, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, Kansas. He was born on July 9, 1937 in Concordia, Kansas, to John O. and Fleeta "Fee" F. (Lowell) Cory.
He attended Talmo schools. He served in the Army National Guard for four years at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He married Linda L. Robertson on August 13, 1961 in Simpson, Kansas, and to this union were born a son, J.C. and a daughter, Darla. She preceded him on December 13, 1999.
John was a lifelong area farmer, dirt worker. He served on the Cloud County Rural Fire Dept. #401 as Chief for several years. He was a former member of the Talmo United Methodist Church and a lifetime American Legion Post #76 member.
He married Patricia Scott on August 2, 2003 in Concordia, Kansas. She survives the home.
John is survived by his wife, Pat, Concordia, Kansas; son, J.C. Cory, Concordia, Kansas; daughter, Darla Williams (Arnold), Russell, Kansas; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen, Rogers and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife, Linda; his parents; brother, Robert R. Cory; and a stepfather, Eustice (Poose) Sjolander.
It was John's wishes to be cremated and memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas, with Rev. Mark Crist officiating and military honors by American Legion Post #76 of Concordia and #62 of Salina.
Friends may sign the register book on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 1 PM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends from 6 PM to 7 PM, all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.
