Paul Theodore Graff II was born on December 31, 1941 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Paul T. Graff and Emma Harbert Graff. He passed away on Saturday, December 21, at his home in Beloit, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion at the age of 82.
Paul, affectionately known as "Teddy", attended St. John's schools before graduating from Mauer Hill High School, and later attended Benedictine College. His courageous spirit led him to join the Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany.
Following his service, he returned home and was united in marriage, blessed with three daughters, Gretchen, Camille and Heather, who brought immense joy to his life. Although his marriage eventually dissolved, his love for his daughters remained unwavering.
On October 28, 2006, he married Joyce Pursley, and they shared a beautiful life together in his childhood home in Beloit. Joyce brought vibrancy and adventure to his life, and he cherished every moment spent making her happy. Her selfless love and care for him until his final days are a testament to the power of true love.
Paul was a gifted carpenter, and his passion for cooking with Joyce in his spare time brought them even closer together. Their love for their two dogs, Cuppy-cake and Rosie, was a source of immense delight.
He was a devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the VFW Post #6242, inspiring others with his faith, compassion, and generosity.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul T. and Emma C. Graff; a grandson, Kyle Wisby; and a brother-in-law, Earl Engelbert, but his memory lives on through the countless lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce of the home; daughters, Gretchen Haring of Haven, Camille Onka of Independence, Missouri, and Heather Graff of Wichita; six grandchildren, Emma, Amy, Payton, Paxton, Hadyn and Lila; his sister, Mary Frances Engelbert of Beloit; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Memorial services will be at 10 AM Friday, January 3 at the St. John's Catholic Church, and a rosary service will be at 9:30 AM at the Church. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Church or Solomon Valley Hospice.
Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
