Marjory Zadina, 92

Marjory F. (VanWey) Zadina, 92, of Beloit, Kansas, died Saturday, January 11, 2025. She was born March 29, 1932 in Ionia, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy "Roy" VanWey and Ruth (Trubey) VanWey. She grew up in Ionia, Kansas, and attended Ionia High School, where she graduated in 1950. On October 28, 1950 she married Darus "Bud" Zadina. To this union, daughters, Cindy and Vicki, and son, Steven, were born.
Marjory worked in the home, at the Banner Burger Bar, known to many locals as "The Banner Lady", and for the home health a division of SRS, for many years. She was a huge fan of the Kansas City Royals, especially Salvador Perez, watching basketball, and tending to her garden.
Marjory was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia; brother, Virgil; husband, Darus; son, Steven. She is survived by daughters, Cindy Schoen (Dean Deitz), Vicki Humiston; granddaughter, Kenda Brewster; great-grandson, Zaden Brewster; great-granddaughter, Zalie Brewster; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the First Bank Community Room in Beloit, Kansas. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Marjory are suggested for the American Legion Post 57 and will be designated to the AA Baseball Team of Beloit, Kansas, in care of Schoen Funeral Home, 302 N. Hersey Ave., Beloit, Kansas 67420.
