Vicki Sue Hammer, 82

Vicki "Sue" (Reece) Hammer, age 82, entered into eternal rest on March 27, 2025. She was born November 25, 1942, in Concordia, Kansas, to Jack and Alice (Neilson) Reece.
Sue grew up in Scandia, Kansas, and went on to attend Kansas State University for three years. She transferred to Fort Hays State University where she completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
In July of 1963, Sue was united in marriage to Harold "Gene" Hammer. From this union, Amy was born.
Sue was an educator and provided 40+ years of education at Pike Valley Junior High, Pike Valley High School, and Cloud County Community College. During her career, she taught English, Social Studies, Psychology, and Human Growth and Development.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Amy (Flint) Steeples, Spring, Texas; sister, Linda Hammer; granddaughter, Holly Steeples, Tyler, Texas; grandson, Nolan Steeples, Bethany, Oklahoma, and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Gene" Hammer; parents, Jack and Alice (Neilson) Reece; and brother, Carl Reece.
A private family burial will be held at the Norway Community Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will also be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Norway Community Center in Norway, Kansas.
