Jean Louise Novak, the daughter of Glenn L. Pelesky and Marcelene (Junek) Pelesky, was born January 28, 1952 in Belleville, Kansas, and passed away on July 13, 2025 at her home in rural Narka, Kansas, at the age of 73.
Jean grew up in the Haddam, Kansas, area, graduating from North Central High School in Morrowville, Kansas. On September 16, 1968, she was united in marriage to Roger Novak and to this union, Brian, Jeff and Jamie were born. The family made their home at the farm in rural Narka.
Jean loved the farm and was a farmer and homemaker her entire life, assisting with working cattle, planting crops, driving grain trucks, and was the bookkeeper for the farm and business. She loved to make afghans and crochet doilies, along with carpentry work and crafting of wood frames and toys. Jean also did extensive work for find a grave and genealogy. Jean participated in ladies league golf and she and Roger played in many couple's tournaments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Marcelene Pelesky, and one brother, Darwin Pelesky.
Jean is survived by her husband, Roger Novak of Narka, Kansas; two sons, Brian Novak of Belleville, Kansas, and Jeff (Melissa) Novak of Narka, Kansas; one daughter, Jamie (Todd) Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Kaden, Greyson, Landon, Morgan, Brianna, Wyatt, Anthony and Kylee; one sister, Kayleen (Douglas) Wilkinson of Belleville, Kansas; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas, with Kathleen Marsicek officiating.
Interment will follow at the National Cemetery, rural Narka, Kansas.
Visitation and viewing will be from 1 PM until 7 PM Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas, where the family will greet friends from 5 PM until 7 PM on Friday.
Memorials will be designated later and may be left at the funeral home or sent to the family.
