It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jakobi Tyson, who left us far too soon on July 27, 2025, at the tender age of 17. Born on June 6, 2008, in Beloit, Kansas, Jakobi brought immense joy and light into the lives of everyone he met.
Jakobi was a vibrant spirit with a heart of gold. His friendly, thoughtful and caring nature touched countless lives. He was known for his dependable character and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jakobi had a radiant smile that could light up any room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was quite the comedian and always had a funny retort or practical joke to play, bringing laughter to every gathering.
An avid sports enthusiast, Jakobi found great joy in football, basketball and baseball. Beyond the fields, his passion for cars was undeniable. He embraced life with enthusiasm and a genuine love for his hobbies.
Jakobi is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Edna Lee Tyson, Merlin Fobes and Jacqueline "Jackie" (Cole) Fobes.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted parents, Jules and Misti Tyson; his dear sisters, Genesis Tyson and An'Aliyah Tyson; and his cherished niece, Everest Tyson. Jakobi is also survived by his great-grandmother, Edna Pearl (Winborn) Swain; grandfather, Dr. Alvin Tyson; his great-aunt, Jolene Cole; his aunt, NiCole (Fobes) Fitzgerald and her husband; his uncle, Derek Fobes; and many great aunts, great uncles and cousins. His memory will live on in the hearts of his extended family and many friends.
A service to celebrate Jakobi's life will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit, Kansas. Visitation will be at 9 AM before the funeral service with family present at that time.
Memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund in care of the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest, but his spirit and the warmth of his smile will remain with us forever.
