Emily J. Weatherhead, 43

Emily J. Weatherhead, the daughter of Craig Weatherhead and Karla (Blackwood) Weatherhead, was born September 29, 1982 in Concordia, Kansas and passed away on October 19, 2025 in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 43.

Emily attended the local public schools, graduating from Belleville High School. She then attained an associate degree in nursing from the NCK Technical College at Beloit, Kansas. Emily worked at Jewell County Hospital, before becoming a stay-at-home mom after the twins were born. She made her home in Belleville and was very involved in all of her kids activities, including being a wrestling coach the past few years.

She and her life partner, Buck Woerner, and love of her life have been together since 2010. Emily valiantly fought brain cancer for the last two and one-half years.

Emily was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dean and Madeleine Blackwood; paternal grandparents, Dean and Jean Weatherhead; and grandmother-in-law, Cheryl Woerner.

Emily is survived by her husband, Buck Woerner of Belleville, KS; sons, Ethan (Harlee) Woerner of Burr Oak, KS, Braxton, Kyson and Kruz Woerner all of Belleville, KS; daughters, Skylar Weatherhead of Belleville, KS and Avery Woerner of Belleville, KS; 3 grandchildren, Aspyn, Rilee, and Waylon; mother, Karla (Gary Ramseyer) Weatherhead of Belleville, KS; father, Craig Weatherhead of Belleville, KS; brothers, Travis Weatherhead of Belleville, KS and Aaron (Madison McGinness) Weatherhead of Topeka, KS; sister, Sarah Weatherhead of Belleville, KS; half-sisters, Kara Ramseyer of Manhattan, KS and Katie Courville of Amarillo, TX; father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Doris Woerner, brother-in-law, Wes (Wendy) Woerner; grandfather, Mitch Woerner; other relatives, and many friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Belleville Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Mark McGregor, officiating. Family private burial will be held at a later date.

The family will greet friends following the services on Saturday at the Church. Friends may also sign the register book at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, from 1 PM until 6 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025.
