Dawn Jolene Spengler, 61, Concordia, Kansas, passed away at her home in Concordia,
Kansas on February 1, 2026. She was born in Winfield, Kansas on November 17, 1964,
to Dow and Patricia (Crandall) Spengler.
She attended school in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School. Since 2004
she has worked in the OCCK Employment Program on various contract work, including
packaging for Scott Specialties.
Dawn had a zest for life. She loved her family. She enjoyed dancing, eating out--
especially at Pizza Hut, bowling, and shopping. She had quite a collection of shoes and
purses. She enjoyed watching Walker Texas Ranger and The Dukes of Hazard (The
Duke Boys as she referred to them). She loved her baby dolls, most especially "Blue
Eyes." It is easily said that she could touch a person's heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents Dow and Patricia Spengler, her brother Wes
Spengler, and uncle Milton Spengler.
She is survived by her sisters Jullie Loper (Brian) of Loveland, CO, and Melissa
Spengler of Concordia, KS; sister-in-law Sherri Spengler of Alabama; a host of nieces
and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and aunts and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2026,
at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at New Salem Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas on April
24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to OCCK, Inc in care of
