Timothy John Schneider, 58

Timothy John Schneider passed from this life on April 20, 2026 at his home in Downs, Kansas at the age of 58. He was born June 18, 1967 in Plainville to Raymond and Audrey (Cochrun) Schneider. Tim was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Peace Lutheran Church in Natoma where he remained a member his entire life. He grew up on a farm north of Natoma and later a farm east of Covert both in Osborne County. His childhood years were spent on the farm where he helped with the family farming and caring for cattle. He was always an avid reader even from a young age, especially enjoying western novels by Louie Lamour.

He attended school in Osborne making many friends who enjoyed his good nature, sense of humor and orneriness. Tim served as his class president and was honored as Swan Song King. He was a gifted musician in his younger years. He graduated from Osborne High School in 1985 and went on to attend Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS.

After leaving college he returned to the farm for a while and then moved to Osborne and was employed at Osborne Industries for a number of years all the while helping out on the farm in his spare time. Tim then moved to Downs where he lived the remainder of his life. After moving to Downs, he worked other jobs including: Great Plains Manufacturing, NC Air, and for Osborne County. He was always a hard and willing worker.

On February 14, 2016 he and Beverly Conaway were united in marriage and continued to make their home in Downs.

Timothy is survived by his wife, Beverly; step-daughter Mandy Muck (Ryan Holloway) of Osborne, step-son, Aaron Dose of Downs, step grandchildren; Carson and Trinity Holloway; sister-in-law Gaylene Haines (Gerald); His father Raymond Schneider in Osborne; brothers Mark (Colleen) of Hays; Matthew (Lana) of Covert; sister Cheryl Sturgeon (Ron) in Osborne and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Timothy was preceded in death by his mother Audrey; a brother Martin; paternal grandparents, Martin and Dorothea (John) Schneider; and maternal grandparents Edward and Edna (Hubbard) Cochrun.

A memorial service will be held at Schoen Funeral Home & Monuments in Downs, Ks, Tuesday, April 28, at 10am. Memorials are designated to the Schneider family and may be made to Beverly Schneider, In care of Schoen Funeral Home & Monuments, 1001 Morgan Ave. Downs, Ks 67437.
