Oscar Montero, 23

Oscar Montero, a beloved son, father, and entrepreneur, passed away on April 28, 2026. Born on October 15, 2002, in Independence, Kansas, he was the cherished child of Rosendo Montero and Aurelia Angel. From his earliest days in Independence to his youth spent in Beloit, Oscar's life was marked by a blend of ambition, warmth, and a uniquely spirited personality.

After graduating from St. John's Catholic School in Beloit, Kansas, Oscar entered the workforce with determination and focus. He later pursued his entrepreneurial dreams by establishing his own business, MC Autoworks Detailing. Through this venture, he exemplified his dedication and drive, always aspiring to build something meaningful for himself and those around him.

Oscar embraced fatherhood in 2023 with the birth of his son, Mylen, whom he had with his then-fiancée, Riley Hess. Their shared moments-whether baking cookies that disappeared in less than ten minutes or cozy slumber parties in the living room filled with favorite snacks-remain treasured memories, reflecting the deep joy and pride he held as a father. His love for Mylen was a radiant part of his life.

Known for his goofy smile, spontaneous nature, and steadfast ambition, Oscar was a man who marched to the beat of his own drum. He had a reputation as a pretty good handyman and an avid lover of the outdoors, where he often spent time with friends and family. He dreamed passionately about creating a special place for "his people," underscoring his visionary outlook and caring heart.
